We did this little project yesterday, and it was such an easy Easter craft I thought I would share it here.
You will need:
:: scrapbook paper strips – I cut mine with my paper cutter
:: an egg template
:: two pieces of card stock
:: x acto knife
:: glue sticks
Cut your scrapbook paper first, into strips of various widths. You can use a paper cutter if you have one, that makes it easier, but scissors will work just as well.
Print the egg template out on some card stock and cut the egg shape out with an x acto knife. Lay your strips on the blank piece of card stock, and arrange them before gluing them in place with the glue stick. Kids really like to arrange the strips into different patterns, so there may be some rearranging before it’s time to break out the glue stick.
Trim the edges of the paper strips off with scissors. Then simply lay the piece of card stock with the egg cutout on top, and you’re all done! This was so easy, my son and I made these and had fun playing with the colors and patterns.
Place in a frame and display them! The inexpensive IKEA frames work really well for this project.
What easy Easter crafts have you done lately? We’d like to do a few more over here…
Linking up to some of these parties.
