Well, I’m a tad late with this post…are we already on the 9th day of January? But I thought I would share some of my favorite things from 2013. Better late than never, I suppose. (Disclosure: This post does contain some affiliate links).
Favorite Foods and Snacks:
Earnest Eats Choco Peanut Butter Bars – these saved me when we were at Disney World and I was hot and starving and not close to a place that had gluten free/dairy free snacks.
Green & Black’s 70% Dark Chocolate Bar – my favorite chocolate bar!
Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Honey Mints – and of course, these seem to be impossible to find now. Not sure if they have been discontinued.
Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Almonds – still a favorite.
Love MI Seasons Seasoning Blends – We found out about this Michigan company at the Farmer’s Market…now we are addicted to the BBQ Seasoning and the Garlic Herb Blend.
Bark Thins Pumpkin Seed Snacking Chocolate – from Costco! So good and healthy, because of the pumpkin seeds…right??
Divergent – Such a good, quick read! I liked it almost as much as The Hunger Games.
One Bite at a Time: 52 Projects for Making Life Simpler – I love the quick ideas in this book for getting organized. I need all the help I can get.
A Wrinkle in Time – I had not read this when I was a kid, that seems strange now, because it’s so good!
Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing – This is a great devotional for children. I really enjoy reading this before bed with my son.
Favorite Etsy Shops:
Just Puff – I bought some adorable ornaments for my puppy nieces and nephews.
The Brightside Studio – I have matching hats for the boys from Sarah. They are so cute and well made.
Life Made Lovely – lots of darling prints and stationary items.
Milo and Molly – Soft and pretty infinity scarves, I love the colorful patterns!
Favorite Recipes I Tried:
(I modified these recipes as needed to make them gluten and dairy free). You can find more of the recipes I’ve made and loved on my Pinterest board.
Favorite new way to shop:
I finally tried Stitch Fix, a personal styling service that sends you a selection of clothes to try on in the comfort of your own home. The first fix went pretty well, and I should be getting another one next week. I’m excited because they are supposed to keep getting better as the stylists learn more about your taste and style. This is a great service for me because I just don’t have time to get out and shop anymore.
Let’s see…what else happened this year? Darryl started a new position at his job, I moved this blog over to WordPress, I sold jewelry at the Farmer’s Market for the first time, we went to Disney World, we had an allergy scare with Baby Bee that resulted in me posting a lot more allergy friendly recipes on here, we painted the kitchen, we retiled the kitchen backsplash, and I hosted Thanksgiving dinner for the first time. Whew! What a busy year! No wonder I’m a week behind in posting the recap. :)
