An easy green smoothie that has lots of delicious citrus flavor! Perfect for those who are hesitant to add greens to their smoothies.
How did your week go? Did you get a lot done? Are you ready to eat fun weekend food and relax?
Well, before you indulge in pizza and ice cream, I wanted to share a healthy green smoothie with you. Now for me to share a green smoothie…well, I’ve come a long way. It took me a while to get used to the idea of drinking something green. Ridiculous, right?
I don’t even know why it was so hard for me to overcome my fear of green drinks. I love smoothies, and I love spinach and kale, so what was I waiting for? I think I thought a green smoothie would taste like a blended up salad. (Don’t laugh!)
Anyway, I started out just adding a handful of fresh spinach to my smoothies, and that was very good. I couldn’t taste the spinach, I felt like I was getting a little more iron in my drink, I was very proud of myself. Then I decided I should try to add kale and see how that went.
To my surprise, it went very well! I use about a half cup of curly kale with the stems removed, and I really can’t detect any change in flavor. You can see some little green specks in the smoothie, but that doesn’t bother me at all.
This easy smoothie is bursting with fresh citrus flavor from the oranges and pineapple, and it’s also smooth and creamy from the coconut milk. I think you’ll love it!
