berry smoothie for metabolism

A metabolism boosting berry smoothie is a great way to start your day! This smoothie is delicious and such a gorgeous shade of deep pink.

metabolism boosting berry smoothie

There’s nothing like a smoothie for a quick and healthy breakfast or after workout snack. You can fit a lot of nutrients into one glass if you choose your ingredients well.

This metabolism boosting berry smoothie is full of strawberries, blueberries, and banana. If it’s summer and you can use fresh summer berries, all the better! If it’s winter, go ahead and use frozen berries. If you do use frozen berries and you find this smoothie too tart, you can add a bit of honey or more frozen banana if you wish.

You can use non-dairy milk or juice if you wish, but the sugar content of this smoothie is kept down by using water rather than juice to blend it.

What gives this metabolism boosting berry smoothie its power?

  • berries boost metabolism by providing lots of fiber that causes the body to burn more calories while it tries to digest it
  • bananas contain resistant starch that helps you feel full and gives your metabolism a boost, too

Yes, you can add protein powder, ground flax seeds, chia seeds, fresh greens, or any other add in that you desire. As long as you keep the berries and banana, you should still reap the benefits of this metabolism boosting berry smoothie!

I love smoothies! As for your appliances. We’ve had that happen too – they all seem to go at once! We had microwave trouble last year. I think we went thru 3! And that’s not counting all the repairs. We even had one that would just turn itself on and run through a 1 minute cook cycle! It was a little creepy. They never could figure out what was up with it and of course it was past the warranty by 1 month!

I think maybe it’s time for a new kitchen!! ;-)
