Ingredients

  • 1 cup lemon juice about 6- 8 lemons, depending on size
  • 12 strawberries for about ¾ cup juice
  • 3 cups water

For the simple syrup:

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup water

Instructions

  • To make the simple syrup, place the ¾ cup water and ¾ cup sugar in a small pan. Heat over medium low heat, stirring often, until the sugar is dissolved. You don't want the syrup to boil. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Remove the caps from the strawberries and place in a blender, along with a couple tablespoons of water to help them blend easily. Blend until smooth.
  • Place a fine mesh sieve over a bowl, and pour the strawberry puree into it. Use the back of the spoon to press all the juice out, leaving the seeds behind in the sieve.
  • Pour the cooled simple syrup, lemon juice, strawberry juice, and 3 cups water into a pitcher. Stir well and taste. Add more water if desired. Pour into glasses with lots of ice.

Notes

Store strawberry lemonade in the refrigerator for up to three days.
You could also make popsicles with this lemonade, and they would be very refreshing!
