These delicious chocolate chip pumpkin bars are so perfect for a fall afternoon. These are wonderful with a cup of tea or a tall glass of milk.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, letting some hang over the edges of the pan.

  2. With an electric mixer, cream buttery spread, applesauce and sugar on medium speed until smooth. Add the egg, pumpkin, and vanilla, and beat until combined.

  3. Reduce speed to low, and mix in dry ingredients until just combined.

  4. Stir in the chocolate chips.

  5. Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 40 minutes. Allow the bars to cool completely in pan.

  6. Slice the bars into squares and serve with ice cream if desired.

Recipe Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container. They should stay fresh for about 5 days.
