Slow Cooker Cowboy Beans (Gluten Free, Dairy Free).

Slow cooker cowboy beans are a delicious dish to bring to a potluck or party! These beans are hearty, tasty, and filling!

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 pound 93% lean ground turkey or ground beef
  • 8 slices cooked bacon
  • 1 sweet onion chopped
  • 30 ounces pinto beans
  • 15 ounces Great Northern beans
  • 1 ¼ cup tomato sauce
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 Tablespoon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup water

Instructions
 

  • Cook the ground turkey in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Place the cooked ground turkey, cooked bacon, and chopped onion in a slow cooker.
  • Drain and rinse the beans and add to the slow cooker. Add the tomato sauce. brown sugar, maple syrup, mustard, vinegar, and water to the slow cooker.
  • Stir all the ingredients together.
  • Cook on the low setting for 4 hours. Enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator. They should stay fresh for about 4 days.
If you would rather use ground beef, you can do that!
Feel free to substitute different beans. Try navy beans, black beans, or lima beans.
