Super simple painted jack o'lantern jar candles. An easy fall craft. #halloween #jackolantern #craft #jar

I love fall and Halloween decorating so much, don’t you? Of course we put out lots of pumpkins around the porch and yard, but somehow we don’t seem to get around to carving them. Too busy, or wanting to avoid the mess, I guess. Anywa, we were buying canned peaches for awhile that came in these cute little jars, and I was saving the jars because I knew they would be good for something.  And they made adorable little pumpkin candles.

This is the kind of craft that I love – very little investment of time and materials, but a very rewarding finished product. You may even have everything you need at home right now.

Empty glass jar

You will need:

:: some roundish glass jars (ours were from peaches)
:: orange craft paint (I used the cheap kind from Jo Ann Fabrics)
:: a black paint pen

Painted jars

Wash the jars. Remove any stickers or labels on the jars.  Paint your jars orange, let dry overnight.

Painted glass jars are a simple fall craft. Make a cute pumpkin candle holder in just a few easy steps!

Draw some cute jack o’ lantern faces on with the black paint pen. Make sure the orange paint is fully dry before drawing the faces on.

Pop a tea light candle inside and enjoy! You can use a battery operated tea light, it just won’t be such a strong glow.

Easy fall craft - fun and festive jack o'lantern jar candles. #jar #fall #halloween

Glowing jar jack o'lanterns - a super fun and easy fall craft. #halloween

There! Aren’t they cute! My four year old loved making these. He was able to paint the jars, and had a lot of fun doing it. It’s very easy, and like I said, you get a lot of bang for your buck! These are just so fun for Halloween. I think they would look cute grouped together on a Halloween party table as a centerpiece.

Have you made any simple crafts lately?

    This is such a good idea to paint them! I made some this year with mason jars but we glued orange tissue paper instead.
