Plan a top 8 allergen free holiday meal with these allergy friendly Thanksgiving free recipes. Enjoy classic, traditional Thanksgiving dishes that are gluten free, dairy free, nut free, and more!
Thanksgiving is approaching, and it can be tricky to plan a menu that will satisfy those with food allergies, and those without.
If you’re cooking for a crowd, and some members of that crowd are used to traditional dishes, you might be nervous about planning a big meal for everyone. You want to keep your family safe and keep everyone happy.
I thought I’d share some top 8 allergen free Thanksgiving recipes with you today! These are recipes that I make pretty much every year.
My son is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame, and my other son is sensitive to gluten, and my brother is vegan. So that pretty much covers all the top allergens! I’m used to cooking without all of those ingredients, and we don’t feel like we’re missing out on anything at all during the holidays.
I hope you find some recipes in this list that will work for your family!
Allergy friendly appetizers:
We don’t make a lot of appetizers for Thanksgiving because there is just so much food! But we do make Chex mix, and these other recipes are great for other holiday gatherings.
Crispy Gluten Free Oatmeal Crackers – It’s shockingly easy to make your own crackers. And it’s a lot cheaper, too! You will want to make a few batches of these if your family is anything like my family!
How to prepare a turkey:
Turkey – I follow the instructions on the turkey packaging, but I place a lemon and an apple inside for moisture and flavor (slice both fruits in half). I also put vegan buttery spread under the skin with fresh herbs like rosemary and sage, and then rub more buttery spread on top of the skin. Bake according to package directions, or consult this post from Butterball.
The tastiest allergy friendly Thanksgiving side dishes:
The Best Dairy Free Mashed Potatoes – It’s really easy to make delicious dairy free mashed potatoes with non-dairy milk and vegan buttery spread. No one will be able to tell the difference!
Nut Free Vegan Sweet Potato Casserole – This was a favorite dish of my mom’s. She didn’t even like sweet potatoes too much, but she loved this casserole! The crunchy oat topping is delicious.

Green Bean Casserole (Gluten Free, Vegan) – Take the time to fry the onions yourself – it’s so worth it!
The Best Vegan Scalloped Potatoes – If you need a second potato dish, this is it! The creamy sauce is so flavorful.
Green Onion and Garlic Buttery Spread
Gluten free, vegan, and nut free holiday desserts:
Chocolate Pudding Pie – this is one dessert that I just have to make – it’s my son’s favorite!
Amazing Vegan Gluten Free French Silk Pie – This is a decadent, creamy dessert that we all love. And there’s no baking required!
