This collection of gluten free dairy free slow cooker freezer meals has something for everyone! From soup to stew, to pepper steak and more, these recipes are family friendly and delicious!
Meal planning can be difficult, especially at a busy time of year. When the holidays hit, or it’s back to school season, or you have a new baby, it can be really tough to plan ahead to have delicious homemade meals on the table.
When I know we are going to have a busy month, I start to think ahead to what we are going to eat, especially for dinner. If you’re like my family, and have any food allergies or sensitivities, you know that one of the challenges is not being able to rely on convenience foods.
Not that I want to eat out all the time, or buy a bunch of frozen dinners, or anything like that, but sometimes it would be nice to just be able to pick up the phone and order a pizza, you know?
So since ordering pizza isn’t something I can fall back on, I have to think ahead a little bit more. I know how I get when I’m stressed out and I want these next few weeks to be smooth sailing.
One thing that I have done in the past, and that I have found SO helpful, is to make crock pot freezer meals. Darryl is really helpful with the grocery shopping, so he did the big freezer meal shopping trip, and then we took a couple of hours and chopped and assembled all the ingredients to make a bunch of freezer meals.
Making gluten free dairy free crock pot freezer meals is such a great way to make sure that you are going to have a tasty meal ready to eat at the end of a long day. All you need to do is move the frozen meal to the refrigerator the day before to thaw so you can put it in the crock pot the next morning.
If you start searching on Pinterest for crock pot freezer meals, there are a TON of pins! It’s super overwhelming, and it’s hard to figure out where to start.
I’ve gathered some gluten free dairy free crock pot freezer meal recipes here for you. (And actually, these are all also nut free and egg free, too!) I wanted to find recipes that look super tasty and use whole foods, so here are twenty recipes that look good to me, and may make their way into our crock pot sometime in the future.
Tips for Preparing Freezer Meals
- Use the ziploc freezer bags (these are heavier than the normal ziploc bags).
- If a recipe has a lot of liquid, consider doubling the bag to prevent leaks.
- Write the instructions on the bag with a Sharpie marker, as well as the date that you are putting it in the freezer.
- Potatoes may discolor in the freezer, so either make sure they are fully covered by the liquid (broth or sauce) in the bag, or wait to add those to the recipe until just before cooking.

Have you prepared gluten free dairy free crock pot freezer meals before? How did it work out?

I saw it was recommended to use Ziploc bags/writing on the outside, are there any suggestions for more of a reusable/sustainable method and label to use to try and save money both on bags and labels? Stasher bags are really expensive so I have been looking for complements, but then also a “dry erase” method for labeling, if it exists? I may need to settle for one or the other from what I have been finding so far, but curious for other thoughts/methods :)
