Since fresh-baked cookies are pretty much my favorite dessert, I decided to put together a round-up of the best vegan chocolate chip cookies.
If you’re new to vegan baking, you may wonder if it’s even possible to make good cookies without eggs or dairy butter or cream. The answer is a resounding yes!

There are some pretty fun variations here, as well as some good, old-fashioned classic recipes. Let’s jump in!
Top Tip
You will want to use parchment paper on your cookie sheet, and you may want to chill the dough before baking. Doing so will result in nicely shaped cookies that don’t stick to the cookie sheet.
Ingredient Notes
- Vegan Buttery Spread – We love Earth Balance Soy Free Vegan Buttery Spread. It has a great flavor in cookies, and consistently produces a good result.
- Egg Replacers – Each recipe will have a recommendation for what egg replacer to use. We often use unsweetened applesauce, a flax seed egg replacer, or mashed banana when baking cookies.
- Dairy Free Chocolate Chips – Enjoy Life makes dairy free chocolate chips, and that’s the brand that we use most often. There are other brands out there, so feel free to use the brand that you like best.
