four ingredient banana oatmeal cookies

This is the time of year when I start to lightly freak out.

And why is that, you ask?

Well, because this is the time of year when lots of things begin appearing on my calendar. And they are all good things, but they are still things, and they are the kind of things that require planning. Like our anniversary, and then Halloween, and then my older son’s birthday, and then Thanksgiving, and then all the madness that leads up to Christmas. (As much as I try to cut down on the madness each year, there is always some lingering chaos.

And then there are other things to do, (again, all wonderful things), like potty learning, and outgrowing a toddler bed, and trips to IKEA (that’s happening today – ugh, wish me luck!), and cleaning and decluttering before we batten down the hatches for winter.

So all that activity makes me a little crazy. And when I get stressed, I have this tendency to bake and then eat all the treats. But luckily, I found a good solution, and it’s these little four ingredient banana oatmeal cookies.

banana oatmeal cookies

We’ve all seen the Pinterest recipes for two ingredient cookies, right? (Spoiler, it’s oats and a banana). And that certainly sounds very healthy, but I just felt like I needed a little something more. So I added chocolate chips and peanut butter to make these four ingredient banana oatmeal cookies.

These banana oatmeal cookies are made without oil and without sweeteners. If you’re trying to be a little healthier, these are a great sweet treat to try.

To make these banana oatmeal cookies, you just throw all the ingredients together and mix well. Bake for ten minutes, and then you have cookies! I used a banana that was ripe but not too ripe, and these turned out really well. These cookies are not super sweet. They do have sweetness from the banana and from the chocolate chips of course, but I just want to mention that they are not as sweet as other cookies.

These vegan banana oatmeal cookies are a great option when you need a treat but don’t want to stray too far from your healthy diet. If you’re looking for a more traditional recipe without the banana, these healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are a delicious option!

I think the texture will be too wet if you use applesauce. If you don’t like bananas, I do have several other oatmeal cookies on this site, maybe those would work for you.

Ugh, I hear you lady! As soon as Halloween is over, it seems like all the nuttiness gets ramped up as you prep for holidays. And good luck on your trip to Ikea! Hope it’s not too crazy there. These cookies sound delicious!

Ah , yes, Q4 is just the craziest! I tend to want to curl up in a fleece-lined cave this time of year and hide until Jan 15 but I do need to face the reality that all the events and holidays are occurring like now. And these 4-ingredient cookies are the perfect treat for bringing long to all occasions, so I think you for simplifying all my baking adventures. I need to make 8 dozen of these – a couple dozen for myself and the rest to share :D
