Gluten free beef stroganoff is a hearty and comforting winter meal. Delicious beef in a flavorful sauce – it’s a cozy meal that everyone will enjoy!
Don’t you just love a nice, comforting, hot meal in the fall?
Beef stroganoff is one of those recipes from when I was a kid that I remember always involving Cream of This or That Soup. I gave those soups up long before we cut out dairy just due to the excess salt and the yucky ingredients in there. So when I crave a meal that used to involve those soups, I have to take a little time to make adjustments and make it taste yummy and creamy without relying on a canned soup.
I recently decided that I wanted to make gluten free beef stroganoff, and this is the recipe I came up with. It is really good, although a little bit different from the recipe I grew up with. This sauce is a lighter than that recipe, and not quite as rich.
Lots of mushrooms plus the beef make this a very filling and satisfying meal. Worcestershire sauce adds depth to the sauce, and almond milk helps make a creamy base. You may wonder about what brands of Worcestershire sauce are gluten free – the Lea and Perrins brand is gluten free and works well in this recipe.

Do you have a favorite fall meal? Have you tried remaking any of your favorite recipes from when you were a kid?

Would this recipe also be considered “soy” free?
Kelly Roenicke
As long as your worcestershire is soy free, the recipe should be soy free!
Jamie
Has anyone made this ahead of time and reheated. Want to bring it to my in laws but not cook it there.
diaz

I’ve tried many GF, DF Stroganoffs but never loved them because they used coconut cream. This recipe was an absolute pleaser for both adults and kids. Tasty and easy to make in under an hour. I added some garlic powder to give it a little pop that my kids love. Easily could be adjusted to whatever you require.
Thank you for giving the frazzled mom a quick, easy dinner for everyone in our house.

This is super delicious and we love it!

I am so excited to try this recipe! I just recently found out I am allergic to dairy and eggs and have been having a really hard time adjusting. Beef stroganoff was my favorite meal and I’m so excited to be able to have it again! You are awesome!

Worcestershire isn’t gluten free – do you have a gluten free alternative?

Excellent recipe! I cooked this on Saturday for my boyfriend, who can’t have dairy and it went down a treat :) So easy to make and delicious – I cant wait to make it again.

Yay! I’m so glad that it was a hit! Thanks for letting me know!

I made this for dinner tonight and it was delicious! i was a bit hesitant as the sauce really smelled like almond milk, but that didn’t come through in how it tasted. Definitely making this again!
Kelly
That’s great! Thank you so much for letting me know, it makes my day when people make my recipes and enjoy them! :)

This looks really good, and easy, too! The one I make is from Martha Stewart, and you do it in the crock pot. The sauce has sour cream and dijon mustard (not that you could use the sour cream). The mustard adds a surprise element and it tastes so good!
Kelly
Yum, dijon mustard and sour cream sounds really good! I’ll have to try a bit of mustard next time!
