I wonder where all these kids allergies came from?
I could eat anything I liked as a kid. The only thing I was allergic to was penicillin.

I have recently diagnosed as being allergic to all dairy, eggs, gluten, wheat, rye and barley, as well as having numerous environmental allergies. I have always been able to eat anything I want, but that changed in the past few months. I have gone from eating whatever, whenever, to starving and thinking that a piece of ice looks delicious! I suffer tremendously when eating. . . sneezing, choking and gagging and gasping for air, suffering with loss of breath, extreme headaches and tremendous pains in my stomach. Now that I am aware of my allergies and try to be careful of everything I put in my mouth, it does help some. It is just hard finding things that I can actually eat – that I would even like! One thing I realized very quickly is just how expensive special diet foods are!! As such, when I came across this article, I got very excited to try your recipes. Can’t wait!!
Jan
These recipes are amazing. I suffer from a lot of allergens. To find these on line and available as an book is fantastic.
Kelly
Thank you so much! :)

I am looking forward to reading through all of your recipes. My first had larygomalacia also and dairy allergy. Now I have a nursing 2 month old with dairy, soy and egg allergies that we’ve discovered so far and trying to determine what else she is allergic to.
Kelly
Oh man, I’m sorry! It’s so hard to figure out what the problem foods are in the beginning. You’re doing a great job, though! Keep it up. I hope you find some recipes that work for you here!

I know this was posted a couple of years ago but I almost cried reading it. I have 3 children, the baby is allergic to wheat, dairy, and eggs. The older 2 are not allergic to anything. I have tried so hard to find food that all of them can eat and the baby wouldn’t feel left out. Your blog has to be heaven sent. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Kelly
Oh, I’m so glad that you found me! I hope that you enjoy my recipes! I’m sorry your baby has allergies. I know how hard it is to have to deal with food allergies – hang in there!

I just wanted to say that I literally choked up as I read your intro. I have no food allergies. But my first baby is eggs and nuts, second is nuts, corn, soy, gluten, 3rd is anaphylactic to nuts, no dairy, no eggs, and after a stressful time in his life, the husband is no gluten, and no whey. I’m pregnant with my 4th and am hungry all the time. I eat homemade granola all day long, and sometimes in the middle of the night. I know it’s dramatic but I feel like food allergies ruined my life. I used to love to grow food, cook it, make cheese from raw milk, you name it. Now, EVERY SINGLE DAY I have no idea what to make. It’s been hard for me to find gluten free AND egg free, so I appreciate this blog post. I will start going through them and seeing what I can make (this is all complicated by the fact that I live 100 miles from the nearest town so getting proper groceries is a challenge. You into brought tears because it’s exactly how I feel about having 4 kids in 6 years with such brood allergies. Thanks for posting about this.
Kelly
Oh, I know how hard it is! And when you are pregnant, ugh! So hungry, and you just want to eat something already. I feel you. What helped me was to focus on what I could eat. So it looks like you can eat all fruit, veggies, meat, poultry, fish, rice, quinoa, coconut milk, etc. There are a lot of things that you can make with those options. I know it is hard, but if you can come up with a series of meals that work for your diet, you will get into a routine, and it should get easier. I love to make curry, whether with chickpeas or chicken or veggies, and we eat a lot of stir fry as well. Hang in there! :)
Amanda
Looking forward to following… My youngest is allergic to corn, dairy, eggs, peanuts, and bananas, so I think you may have some things that we might be able to try! Thanks!

This is a series I can really benefit from right now! I have two dairy-sensitive kiddos, including one who is nursing and is also allergic to soy and corn. We’re not sure about gluten at this point, but I mostly avoid it to be safe. I’m excited to follow your series!
