Does anyone else feel like things get even crazier in the summer? I mean, instead of feeling like things slow down, all of a sudden my schedule is even more jam packed. What happened to the lazy summer days? Instead, our days are filled with park dates and library trips, and zoo days and pool days. Which are all wonderful of course…I’m not complaining. Well, not much. ;)
All of this summer fun makes it tricky for me to have time to meal plan, get to the grocery store, and cook a healthy meal. Not impossible, but I do need to do a little extra planning to make sure we aren’t just eating watermelon and popsicles for dinner.
I recently found out about Clicklist. With Clicklist, you can do your shopping online, and then drive to the store to pick up your order. You don’t even have to get out of the car!
I’m already a Kroger shopper, and I was thrilled when I found out about Clicklist. I think this service is ideal for parents, especially those of us who may have sleeping babies or toddlers in the car. I only wish that this had been available a few years ago! I know I was always groaning when I would arrive at a store only to see that the baby had just fallen asleep.
To use this service, you simply place your order at your convenience (Shopping online at midnight? Why not?) and specify your pickup time. With over 40,000 items available, it’s easy to find what you need. When you go to pick up your order, you’ll see signs directing you to the special area designated for Clicklist pickups.
Simply call the number on the sign and wait for your order to be brought out to the car. You can then pay for your groceries with a debit or credit card, and you’ll be on your way! It’s that simple.
The other day I ordered the ingredients for this easy slow cooker Mexican chicken. I was so impressed with the freshness of the produce in my order. You can be assured that whatever groceries you order will be kept at the proper temperature so that they are nice and fresh.
This slow cooker Mexican chicken is just right for busy days. Just throw the ingredients in the slow cooker, turn it on, and a few hours later you’ll have a hot dinner waiting for you! We love this chicken over tortilla chips with chopped red pepper, cilantro, and green onions. I hope you’ll love it, too!
- 1½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- ½ of a red onion, sliced
- ⅔ cup salsa verde
- 1½ teaspoons cumin
- 1 cup frozen corn kernels
- ½ cup water
- tortilla chips
- chopped red bell pepper
- green onions
- fresh cilantro
- Place the chicken breasts, red onion, salsa verde, cumin, water, and corn in a slow cooker.
- Cook the chicken for 4 hours on high, or 6-8 hours on low.
- When the chicken is cooked through, shred it with two forks.
- Serve over tortilla chips or rice, and top with desired toppings.
