If you’re looking for festive, easy, Christmas cookie recipes that are free of nuts, you’ve found them! These are some of the best traditional holiday cookies – all made nut free and allergy friendly. Don’t miss out on holiday treats due to food allergies!

At this time of year, it seems like nuts are everywhere! There are more candies, cookies, and other desserts in every restaurant and grocery store, all laden with nuts. And any cookbook you look through is loaded with recipes for treats and snacks with nuts.
Thankfully, you can make so many holiday treats without nuts. My amazing 3 ingredient fudge is nut free, I make nut free Chex mix, and I even have a buckeye candy recipe without peanut butter.
I have many allergy friendly holiday cookie recipes on this site, but today I want to highlight some of my top Christmas cookies that are nut free.
If you love to bake, this is the post for you! These cookie recipes are festive, simple, and so tasty! I hope you’ll find some new favorites that work for your family and friends.

Nut Free Ingredients
You can find many baking ingredients that are made in a nut free facility. Here are some of my favorites:
- Sugars – We like Wholesome Brand Sweeteners for cane sugar, light brown sugar, and dark brown sugar.
- Oats – GF Harvest oats are processed in a nut free facility as well as One Degree Organics.
- Spices – We like McCormick spices and trust their allergen labeling.
- Chocolate Chips – Either Enjoy Life or PASCHA Chocolate is a great choice for chocolate chips and chunks.
- Candies – You can get allergy friendly “m&m” like candies from No Whey! or from Vermont Nut Free Chocolates.
- Sprinkles – We get our sprinkles from Vermont Nut Free Chocolates or some Betty Crocker sprinkles are safe as well – call the company to check!
Always call and check with the company to make sure any ingredient is safe for your family.
Nut and Nut Butter Substitutes
There are lots of options to substitute for nuts and nut butter.
- If you’re looking for a little crunch, try adding pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds instead of nuts. SuperSeedz are pumpkin seeds that are processed in a nut free facility.
- There are many different choices for seed spreads – we like Sunbutter or WowButter. Pumpkin seed butter or granola butter could work, too.
Storage
Store fresh baked cookies in an airtight container. They should stay fresh for about 5 days.
If you would like to freeze them, you can store cookies in a freezer bag or freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
