This dairy free raspberry milkshake has a secret – a hidden ingredient that gives it a pretty pink color! This would be the perfect treat for Valentine’s Day!

I love a good milkshake, and since we have food allergies in our family, if I want a milkshake, I need to make it at home.
Thankfully, it’s really easy to make a milkshake – we love this sunbutter shake, and this oreo version is also a big hit here!
I wanted to make a colorful milkshake that was berry flavored, so I got out the blender and this is what I came with! This is delicious and beautiful, and I was able to sneak in some beets, which is a vegetable that my family doesn’t typically enjoy.
Whether you want to enjoy this pretty pink shake yourself, or you’re planning to make it for your family, you’ll be surprised at the way the beets blend in with the sweet berry vanilla flavor. This raspberry milkshake would be the perfect lighter dairy free dessert for Valentine’s Day, too.

Ingredient Notes
- Dairy Free Ice Cream – Use any brand of dairy free ice cream that works for your dietary needs. If you aren’t dairy free, use regular ice cream.
- Non-Dairy Milk – A neutral tasting non-dairy milk will be best. Oat milk, coconut milk, rice milk, or any other plant based milk you like should be fine.
- Beets – You will need to cook the beets before making the milkshake. Peel and dice up the beets, then boil for 20 minutes or until tender. Allow them to cool before making this dessert.
Variations
- You can use different fruit if you like – try strawberries or cherries.
- Top this with homemade dairy free hot fudge or whipped coconut cream if you want an even more decadent treat.
