Frozen chocolate banana bites are topped with sunbutter, chocolate, and a sprinkle of sea salt for an easy, healthy, frozen treat.
Have you seen those ridiculous Facebook posts lately? The ones with the stick figure that says something like, “This is Bob. Bob likes football. Bob is a friend to others. Be like Bob.” Or something similar, you get the idea.
I hate those things. Most of the time I can tune out whatever annoying theme is going around on Facebook, but those little stick figures are getting to me.
But…if I were to let that silly app create a stick figure thingy for me, it would probably say something like, “This is Kelly. Kelly likes easy desserts. Kelly likes sweet and salty things together. Be like Kelly.” ;)
I know frozen chocolate banana bites aren’t a new thing. I’ve seen chocolate covered bananas in stores, and on Pinterest. And I know this is not a difficult thing to make, but I wanted to make a version that used homemade chocolate and sunbutter, and didn’t involve using toothpicks to try to dip them without dropping them in the chocolate.
I adapted Melissa’s easy chocolate recipe slightly, and the flavor is just perfect for these frozen treats. They couldn’t be any easier to make. I sliced the bananas, smeared sunbutter on each slice, and set them on a wire rack on top of a cookie sheet.
The chocolate takes just a minute to make, and then I let it sit for a few minutes to thicken up.
Then I simply drizzled the chocolate on each banana slice, and sprinkled sea salt on top. Pop them in the freezer, and after a couple of hours, they are ready to eat! Easy.
